Your Guide To Low-Cost Online Airfare To Florida

There used to be a time when vacationers picked up the phone, called their travel agent and kept their fingers crossed, hoping for a great deal on a flight. If you were lucky enough to get a discounted rate, that was wonderful. If you had to pay full fare, well, you weren't going to cancel your vacation over it. Just as computers have changed the way the world operates, they've also turned Joe Traveler into an armchair travel agent. Today it's possible to check flight availability, search for the best fare, book your own flight and in some cases, even choose your seat on the plane - all at the click of a mouse.

The advantage, of course, is the ability to compare air fares offered by several different companies within a very short time span. There's no phoning around, no automated messages to contend with and the information is right in front of your eyes.

There's no waiting for the travel agency to open at 9 a.m. and no cursing when you realize they closed at 5. When you wake up at 2 a.m. with an urge to fly to Orlando, you simply fire up the computer and book your flight online. Thanks to easy-to-follow instructions, the Internet helps you access virtually the same airline timetables, ticket prices, routing, seating information and restrictions details as a professional travel agent.

But anyone who's ever surfed the 'Net knows that it can be a time-consuming process - unless you know exactly what you're searching for. That's why we've come up with this handy, concise list of Web sites that promise low airfares to many popular destinations. Though a computer isn't a substitute for a knowledgeable travel professional, it can give you - the consumer - the inside track on where to find some really great prices.

Keep in mind that a well-designed online travel site should let you access the same information you'd receive from a travel agent. This includes finding and booking flights; comparing prices, seats and routings; researching destinations; tracking flights in progress; offering information about discounts and incentives; and keeping consumers updated on travel news and events.

The Brass Ring - Or The Bottom Rung?

24 million adults in the United States consider themselves creative writers but less than 5% have ever been published anywhere. 172,000 titles were released in 2005. It has been estimated that at any one time there are between 5 to 6 million manuscripts looking for a publishing home. Many writers are turning toward publish-on-demand (POD) houses like iUniverse, AuthorHouse and Publish America to get their books into readers hands. About 25,000 titles will be released by POD houses in 2006. Does a publish-on-demand book, sometimes called vanity or subsidy publisher, help a previously unpublished writer get closer to the brass ring of a commercial publishing contract? Or does it bump them down a rung on their climb up the publishing ladder?

Writers often comment that a publish-on-demand book will at least get their name out there or that a POD book will show that they are capable of writing a 50,000 to 100,000 word manuscript. But does a POD book really help get a writer commercially published? That question was asked of nearly 60 successful literary agents in the Hill and Power 2006 Survey of Literary Agents.

These agents collective opinion is that a publish-on-demand book seriously hurt an authors chance at being commercially published. Agents were asked to rate their response from 1 - significantly hurt, to 5 - significantly helped. The average rating was 2. 28% declared a POD title to be neutral (a rating of 3) but half of those specified that a POD title would only help if the sales reached a significant level, from 5,000 to 10,000 copies. Just a handful of publish-on-demand titles have reached that level of sales. The average number of copies sold for a POD title is around 100.

The book publishing industry has never been easy to break into and these same literary agents see the environment getting a bit more challenging in the next year or so for unpublished writers. Combine that with the significantly increased number of unsolicited submissions agents say theyre receiving and writers need every boost they can get toward agency representation and the ultimate goal of commercial publication.

Unfortunately, contrary to what quite a few writers think, that boost isnt going to come from a publish-on-demand book.

Crystal Lake Cave in Iowa - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

Iowa has some beautiful places that are wonderful vacation destinations. One of the must see places is Crystal Lake Cave. There is an interesting story behind this location. Back in 1868 lead miners were looking for a lead vein and they drilled 40 feet into the ground. And although they were not successful in finding the lead they had hoped for they did find something else even more amazing. What they found was Crystal Lake Cave. Although the cave was discovered for many years it was not open to the public until 1932. Bernard Markus, one of the original miners, played a role in getting the cave open to the public and it finally became so after his death.

While the miners were digging they found quite a few different types of gems and minerals that are on display in the gift shop. There is no other show cavern like Crystal Lake Cave and this is the longest a cave has been "alive" in Iowa. The cave is underground and continues to be one of the most amazing places to visit in Iowa. The tour of the cave takes about half an hour to 45 minutes and it is an adventure like none other you have ever taken. A tour guide will lead you so that you get the most out of the adventure. Keep in mind that no matter what the temperature is outside it will be quite cool in Crystal Lake Cave and the year round temperature is usually around 52 degrees Fahrenheit.

The cave is open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekends in May and daily in June, July and August from 9 am until 6 pm. In September the cave is open from 11 am until 5 pm on weekdays and 9 am until 5 pm on weekends. The cave is open through mid October from 11 am until 5 pm on weekdays and 9 am until 5 pm on weekends. The rest of the year the cave is closed for winter. Prices for adults are $10 and $5 for kids four to 11. Kids under four are free and senior citizens receive a 10% discount. Group pricing is available. The cave is located three miles south of Dubuque, Iowa and 20 minutes from Galena, Illinois.

Cubs Fans as Metaphor for Chicago Dating

Cubs fans, known throughout the baseball world, and the country in general, as the most die-hard, loyal, and dedicated fans in the sport. Wrigley Field regularly packs the stadium with fans... fans who are sure that this year things will be different. This year they'll make it to the World Series.

And yet...

The Cubs haven't been to the World Series since 1945, and they haven't won the Series since 1908. And yet the Cubs fans continue to believe. They continue to hope against hope, and show up at every game, cheering them on and throwing back the opposing team's home run balls. For what? A team that continues to let them down?

One could examine Chicago dating (or any dating for that matter) in the same way. We hope against hope that this time our blind date will be worthwhile or that this time a relationship will make it past the third date. Like a true Cubs fan, we are completely dedicated to our cause, and our belief is pure that someday our Chicago dating will garner success. It's the epitome of Blind Faith, but let's face it, we love the struggle and the journey into the unknown.

Sometimes, when we go through a dry spell (maybe month for us, a century for the Cubs) we tend to look for reasons anything that would explain why these failures or rejections are happening to us. But of course, we tend to look for reasons that are beyond our control That way, it's not our fault.

The Curse of the Billy Goat has dogged the Cubs since 1945. Every time the Cubs get close to the World Series, something outside of their control steps in to ruin everything and stomp on the hearts of Cubs fans one more year. Chicago dating also offers plenty of scapegoats. No one understands me, Girls always want someone with a better job, Guys are all jerks, and so on and so forth. We fall back on these because they are a simple way to avoid Chicago dating demands.

And just when we think we can overcome all these problems and have an enjoyable life, Steve Bartman reaches out and knocks the ball away from our grasp.

And we were so close!

Every time we get close to achieving that long term goal it seems like any number of obstructions can pop up and and make trouble for us. For the Cubs, it was Steve Bartman, for Chicago singles it could be any of the common speed bumps that we pin a failed relationship on. Nevermind that the Cubs were still leading after the incident, and nevermind that it's only a simple misunderstanding that has come between a couple, these speed bumps become our focus and our reason for letting everything else fall apart.

Now here's the tough question: As all these speed bumps and problems pop up in a Chicago dating situation or on the road to the World Series, do we really want to overcome them? Or have we gotten too comfortable in the status quo?

The Cubs have a history of questionable trades and not using their funds to improve the team. Part of the current Cubs identity is the team that is cursed. Every year we get to watch them battle against an overwhelming curse year after year. Would they really still be The Cubs if they didn't have a curse to overcome? Could the owners still fill the stands if the Cubs were just another team in the MLB?

Do our Chicago dating habits follow the same trend? If we come across the means to change our dating life, do we take the chance to grow the relationship to take the relationship to the next level or do we pass it by because it wouldn't be me?

The Cubs have employed various means to eliminate their curse. Most recently, a fan paid more than one hundred thousand dollars to buy the Steve Bartman baseball and blew it up in front of a huge gathering of fans. Rather than taking the basic steps to build up a winning team, they seemed to think a big explosion would solve all their problems.

Are we also looking for a mystical cure to our Chicago dating woes? Do we think that a big explosion will solve all our problems?

There is, luckily, a cure. According to Sam Sianis, the nephew of the man who placed the curse, the Cubs have to show a sincere fondness for goats, and not just welcome them back as a publicity stunt.

The Chicago dating cure may be just as simple. One has to have the dedication and determination of a Cubs fan to make it through the rough patches, but dating has to be for the sake of dating. Because you really want a relationship. When you can honestly enter the Chicago dating scene with those intentions, rather than to keep up an image, you'll find yourself on the road to the World Series... or a happy relationship. One of the two.

Who is a Compassionate Listener?

It is difficult to become a good listener who both validates the pain of the other, while maintaining the ability to look at themselves. Each person must listen compassionately to themselves and each other.

Within many relationships, rather than engaging in compassionate listening, many couples polarize. One partner is the voice of reason, the head, while the other partner is the voice of emotion, the heart. These patterns often create communication problems, which hardly begins to touch on the angst that can be felt between couples.

While, listening with both our hearts and our heads is valuable, neither is complete by itself, because listening with both makes one complete person. Someone who uses just their head while listening is using their intellect and knowledge, and when used individually, without the hearts part, it can be cold and indifferent. When listening with just the heart compassion turns into confused feelings.

A compassionate listener is someone who listens with both their head and their heart.

Here are traits of a compassionate listener:

They are commited to listening.

They have the intention of understanding, as deeply as possible, the message and concerns of others.

They seek to understand the reality of another through both compassion and understanding.

They refrain from verbal and nonverbal judgments.

They are physically and mentally ready to listen.

They validate their understanding of the other's reality before expressing their opinion.

They create a balance between their head and their heart.

They remain present and are in the here and now.

They are open to new learning experiences about their own behaviors.

They self-evaluate and can laugh at themselves.

10 Travel Health Tips In The Plane

Traveling in a plane at the economy or coach section for a long period of time can sometimes be very stressful to health. The few tips below will ease your flight experience.

Drink plenty of water and if you wish take alcohol, consume moderately.

Keep a water bottle handy, get it refilled from time to time to always have water to drink at your convenience.

Eat light meal in the flight. Take snacks like fruits, cheese and crackers between meals.

Bring extra cushion or travel pillow for neck and back support. One pillow provided in the plane is not sufficient.

Wear eye shades and ear plugs to rest more peacefully.

Wear a comfortable light jumper or cardigan to keep warm, cabin temperature is usually set at 22 to 24 degrees Celsius (72 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit).

Apply a lot of moisturizer on the skin, especially on the face and hands to avoid dryness of the skin.

Use lip balm to keep the lips moisturized.

If you are wearing makeup, do not remove it before rest. It keeps the skin from losing moisture in the flight.

Walk around constantly whenever possible to improve blood circulation. This will avoid DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis).

Hope these tips will make your next flight a pleasant one!

Volvo Wraps Safety And Vitality In A Startling Car

Volvo flaunts its all-new sport sedan with a groundbreaking interior design, excellent safety, plus powertrains that include five-cylinder engines, all-wheel drive and a six-speed transmission. Those are the reasons why Volvo S40 is seizing attention and commendations from experts and enthusiasts alike. Said car was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

All-new Volvo S40 is the replacement of the current S40 which was launched in Europe in the year 1995. The latest addition is made up of enhanced Volvo S40 parts to improve its look, feel and performance.

"The center console is a design icon for the new Volvo S40," says Henrik Otto, Design Director at Volvo Cars. Otto further added, "We intend to pursue our position as inaugurators in the car design world, not looking at what our competitors are doing. It is therefore far more valuable to keep an eye on what they're not doing." From its exterior to its interior, Volvo S40 is unmistakably an evolved version of Volvo. Said evolution of design and performance it attributed to the extraordinary design language which creates an aura of simplicity, space and exclusivity.

S40 uses high-tensile steel to suit its structure and built and to promote safety of the passengers. It also uses Volvo's Intelligent Vehicle Architecture (VIVA), which represents a new approach to vehicle safety design. "Naturally, our goal is that the new Volvo S40 should be the safest car in its class," says Volvo Cars President & CEO Hans-Olov Olsson.

Volvo S40 is primarily aimed to expand the car’s appeal so as to cater to the demands of the young generation of buyers not just the customary vehicle buyers. "We want to attract customers into the Volvo family as early as possible, and the new Volvo S40 will definitely appeal to younger buyers. With the new Volvo S40, we now offer our customers large-car benefits across the entire line. This, combined with an exciting design and exceptional road manners, makes the new S40 a highly potent challenger in this segment," explains Olsson.

Barbacoa Grilled Sheep From Mexico

Barbacoa the name itself sounds as if it is time to celebrate. It is an open fire grilling process where a whole sheep is made to roast slowly so that each fleshy part acquires that flabbergasting taste of barbeque bonfire. However, the sheep can also be grilled traditionally in a pit covered with leaves. This barbeque specialty was developed in Mexico just after the Spanish conquest and it was referred to as Barbacoa de cabeza.

Regional discrimination in the art of cooking

In U.S, some portions of the head of the cow become the item to be grilled. In Northern Mexico, again it is the head of the cow, though goat meat or Cabrito is more preferred here. Lamb is the choice of the Central Mexicans and it is Cochinita Pibil (pit-style pork) in traditional Yucatan gastronomy dictionary.

Barbacoa and Barbeque

The word barbeque is an adoption from the word barbacoa. In both cases, meats are cooked following a proper grilling or roasting process. The flesh is allowed to roll well over the grilling equipment to allow the heat touch every part of the fleshy item. This helps to build that simmering and spicy experience which often makes you feel as if there is no end to an appetite.

South Texas Style Beef Barbacoa

Five brothers together make one palatable dish. Yes thats the way its done. Garlic powder, black pepper, dried oregano, chili powder and salt all mixed well and rubbed thoroughly and evenly on all sides of the meat. Your requirement is three quarts boiling water in a water pan, which allows the beef to be exposed to smoke at least for four hours and at a temperature between 225 to 275 degrees. Once you are to change the boiling water of the pan. After this is over, keep watch that the internal temperature of the beef does not exceed 160 170 degrees.

The next step would be to lay the beef in a foil-baking pan, seal it well with heavy-duty aluminum cover, and carefully place it in a preheated oven at a temperature of 325 degrees. The baking should continue for one hour and forty-five minutes. After everything is done just test the meat. You will see that the flesh tends to fall apart from the bone - yes, proper broiling method can really make the meat soft.

Now, it is the time to serve. The meat is chopped and shred into small pieces and then dished up with guacamole, salsa, and hot tortillas.

The queen of the Mexican bistro

Outside Mexico City, there are several places serving palatable barbacoa de borrego (lamb barbeque) and other provincial cooking varieties in a dozen of unbounded restaurants. Arroyo, one of Mexicos famous restaurants is noted for its supply of pit-roasted barbacoa de borrego and consomme de Borrego. Such dishes are well complimented by soup made from the drippings of the roasting lamb and sheep.

Mexican barbacoa a Mexico magnificence that can make the heat of an occasion rise to an extent when the rest of the party dance wildly with the pulsating music. When hot barbeque accompanies the heat of an occasion, nothing else is required to make the party more enjoying.

The Simpsons (Season 8) DVD Review

One of the best TV shows of the modern era, or for that matter any era, The Simpsons rekindled the popularity of the prime time animation genre. A blockbuster series filled with a diverse cast of characters from the fictional town Springfield, the series aided the upstart FOX network in its rise from second-rate TV channel to the elite status of a major network like CBS, NBC, or ABC. This overwhelming success opened the door for a number of similar animated series such as Futurama (1999), The Family Guy (1999), and King Of The Hill (1997). With arguably of the best collection of writing talent in the TV industry, The Simpsons has managed to maintain consistency as one of the funniest shows on television quite an accomplishment given the length of its run.

The Simpsons (Season 8) DVD features a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere Treehouse of Horror VII, one of the best of the annual Simpson Halloween episodes. The three stories covered include the discovery of Barts evil twin in the attic, Lisas creation of an alternative universe, and an alien invasion propagated by Bob Dole and Bill Clinton look-alikes. Other notable episodes from Season 8 include A Milhouse Divided in which Milhouses parents decide to get a divorce, prompting Homer and Marge to take sides in the separation, and The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show in which Homer becomes the voiceover for the highly anticipated arrival of Poochie, a new character on the Itchy & Scratchy Show. How To Choose A Good Investment Property Loan

Real estate investment is generally viewed as a lucrative career opportunity. But purchasing investment property does require a significant financial backing. Nowadays, however, the funds required to embark on a real estate investment career are easily accessible to many people in the form of an investment property loan. Therefore, you may begin investing in real estate, even if you are on a shoe string budget.

Investment property loans can be broadly classified into two categories, namely residential and commercial. Residential loan is associated with those investment properties whose predominant use is residential, and that are purchased for future appreciation and rental income. On the other hand, commercial loan is acquired for the purchase of apartment buildings (with 5 or more units), warehouses, or stores.

An investment property loan can be obtained from several sources, including banks, financial institutions, credit unions, and private brokers. These lending institutions analyze a borrowers credit score, income and assets, in order to determine if he/she is a viable candidate for an investment property loan.

A multitude of real estate investors in the US make use of an investment property loan to acquire real estate. Doing so offers them a twofold advantage they can enjoy the benefits of capital growth and tax deductions. Though the escalations are not anywhere near the boom of the late 1980s, property value does appreciate on a gradual basis (capital growth). Another significant benefit is that offered by negative gearing.

Gearing, in essence, refers to borrowing in order to invest. A negatively geared investment property is one that is purchased using borrowed funds and where the income (after expense deduction) from that investment is less than the payable interest in the course of a year. This allows a significant tax benefit for investors, as they may deduct the expense of owning an investment property (especially the interest on the investment property loan) from their taxable income.

Investment property loans come in various shapes and sizes, as per the requirements of investors. They are offered as interim, short term or long term loans. Needless to say, you must ensure that you are well aware of the terms of the loan, such as the interest rate, the time period of the loan, and the payment schedule.

In a gist, newbie investors need not have plethoric amounts of money to set out on a career in real estate, since property investment loans offer a great opportunity for them to get their feet wet in real estate.

Air Pollution And Air Purifiers

It doesnt matter where you are, as long as you are not in one of those hi-tech labs or anything, you will be encountered with polluted air. These days air purifiers are being sold with the promise of cleansing this air. But before you invest on an air purifier it helps if you understand what are the sources of pollution and how air is actually polluted.

A) Pollution due to Particulates: Generally not visible to the naked eye particulates would be made up of dust, dust mites, dust mite feces, pet dander, skin flakes, pollen, smoke particles and allergens.

Generally a purifier with HEPA filters and the ionizers together are good enough to deal with the particulates.

B) Pollution caused by Odor: The source of odor can be wide ranging. It can be coming from food, pets, our own bodies, cigarettes, clothing, etc. Although odors are not necessarily dangerous, but they can leave you with an unpleasant feeling which you wouldnt want.

The purifiers which have active carbon filters in them are the best to deal with the problem of odor.

C) Pollution caused by Microbials: Microbials would include bacteria, fungi, mildew, mold spores and viruses. Normal filters wouldnt be able to deal with them as some of them can be as small as .001 microns. Compared to that HEPA filters can be effective for anything above the size of 0.3 microns. Microbials have their homes in warm, damp places like under the carpet, in the walls and in the heating and and air conditioning ducts of our homes.

The best way to deal with microbials is to have those devices that can produce oxidation. They help in killing these microbials.

D) Pollution caused by Chemical Fumes and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC): The source of this pollution are chemicals like benzene and formaldehyde. The fumes of these are constantly being released by our carpets, upholstery, furniture, draperies, household cleaning products, etc. Other sources would include cigarette smoke, construction materials, etc. Many of them have been identified as carcinogens.

The best available solution today in the market are those devices that produce oxidation. This is a serious kind of air pollution and must be dealt adequately.

Now that you are acquainted with all the major types of air pollution you are in a better state to deal with them. Knowledge brings power, and now you have the power to choose rightly, to choose the exact air purifier you will need.

Cruise Ships - Then And Now

When you think of taking a trip to another country, there is no doubt you immediately consider airline ticket prices. But, that was not always the most popular mode of travel. Before there were 747 jetliners to ferry people across oceans, the way to travel was by cruise ship. But when it came to the masses, they were not necessarily the luxury vessels we are used to seeing today.

Everyone has seen the blockbuster movie, Titanic. It tells a story about a couple that fell in love on the fateful ship before her sinking. While it may just be a story of fiction, it also gave you a little glimpse into what it was really like to be aboard this method of transportation years ago. As you saw in the movie, not everyone was treated equally aboard the cruise ship. There were the very elite customers who were served everything on a silver platter, but on the lower decks were those who were just hoping to get from one place to another and were forced to scrape by in an area where they were packed as tightly as a can of sardines. If you wanted to enjoy your trip, you had to be filthy rich.

Back in those days, there were not quite as many cruise liners as there are today. Those that were in existence were names that everyone knew. Some of the names you may recognize are the Lusitania and the Queen Mary.

For a while, the popularity of luxury cruise travel waned, but it had resurgence in the 1970s. It was all thanks to a television show, The Love Boat. The staff on the television sitcom showed how great of a time passengers were having. They showed passengers relaxing, playing a number of fun games, meeting new friends over great meals, and getting to see new places. People started booking holiday cruises again hoping to cash in on some of the excitement. And for the most part the cruise lines delivered. They offered people a chance to stand on the deck and watch as they headed to new worlds, unexplored to them. In one trip they would allow those on board to see a lot of places they had never been before, and give them a great setting to talk about it at the end of the day. Some cruises didnt even have an end destination, they merely were cruises to nowhere, a chance to experience cruise ship life for a few days. The trend never really died and has been popular ever since.

What is involved in a cruise has changed from the early years. While you can still take a transatlantic cruise, that is not the most popular choice. There are now a number of 3, 4, 7, and 10 days cruises to a variety of destinations. The accommodations are no longer just lush or poor, but instead a number of different cabin choices at a wide array of prices. Because of the variety, anyone today can enjoy a cruise, no matter what his or her budget.

The Most Overacting Actors: Take a Little Drama Off The Top

There are people in life who are exceptional actors, actors who could make you believe just about anything. Then, there are actors who aren't necessarily horrible, but their tendency to overact makes them about as believable as the Easter Bunny. Take myself, for instance, I am an overactor. I can't appear in front of an audience without overacting. I can't even stretch the truth without being completely dramatic. For me, it's a shame: I like to be on stage.and I really like to lie.

I am not alone in my tendency to overact. Our television and movie screens are filled with overacting men and women (and sometimes dogs (seriously Benji, let's tone down the whimpering)), overacting actors who take drama and make it a little too dramatic. The following is our list for the Most Overacting Actors, those who need a script for a chill pill.

David Caruso, CSI: David Caruso was good on NYPD Blue (good for all five minutes he was a cast member), but there is just something about his role in CSI that makes me want to slip him a Xanaz. With his deep voice, perpetually sunglassed face, and a tendency to speak a little too slowly and articulate a little too much, Caruso makes CSI raise the intensity level. But, then again, maybe that's the point.

Vincent D'Onofrio, Criminal Intent: Like David Caruso, I have really liked Vincent D'Onofrio in his previous work (Mystic Pizza forever, Vinnie), but he maintains a very obscure quality on Law and Order: Criminal Intent. In scenes where he is undercover as a married man, he comes across as gay, in scenes where he is supposed to pretend he is on the criminal's side, he comes across as patronizing, and in scenes where he is supposed to be happywell, frankly, ya just can't tell. He nearly appears to be one emotion, all the time.

Tom Cruise: Hopefully, he can handle the truth. It isn't that I think Tom Cruise is horrible at acting, he just doesn't make certain roles all that believable. Well, that and he plays seemingly the same guy in most of his films. He's fine in movies like Top Gun or Risky Business (i.e., movies where he just needs to smile pretty for the camera), but could he pull off a role like Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman? No way. Oh well, at least he always has Scientology to fall back onor whatever.

William Shatner, Star Trek: Though I absolutely love him in Boston Legal, he makes this list for his role in Star Trek. Sorry Willie, you've been beamed up. In this science fiction series, he became known for narration laden in drama and odd, long pauses.yes, kind of like that. Though this overacting is often parodied, you have to give Shatner credit: his acting style thrives in comedic roles and he looks pretty darn good for his age.

Keanu Reeves: First of all, let me apologize to all the Bill and Ted lovers out there. You're right, that movie was, in a word, excellent. In fact, I believe that was one of Keanu's best jobs as an actor. I don't assert this because he gave a heartfelt performance or because the role he played was on par with Jack Nicholson's Randle Patrick McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I say this instead because it was one role where he wasn't overwhelmingly stoic; it was a role that made him real. Did we believe that he was a high school slacker about to be sent to military school? Yes. Did we believe he was "the one" who could save the human race from slavery? Uh, not really

Which Frequent Flyer Miles Program Is Right For You?

Almost all airline companies allow their customers to access their invaluable frequent flyer programs. As an intelligent consumer, you will do your homework at the start and determine which programs will actually measure up to your expectations, wants, and needs. You definitely want to choose the right program, which will provide you the most benefits, from the very beginning so that you dont lose out on rewards. There are many different programs offered by many different airlines, so be smart, and do your research. Certain programs may provide more interesting benefits for you, and you are the only person that can truly determine whether a program will work for you.

What Should You Look For?

There are many different aspects of frequent flyer programs that you will want to explore before making a decision on one. Here we have three key things that you need to familiarize yourself with concerning every frequent flyer program you are interested in.

o Ticket Cost. Any airline that offers a frequent flyer program should have comparable rates to other airlines, especially if they are offering a frequent flyer program. If their company only offers tickets at substantially higher prices then you really do not save money in the long run.

o Airline Location. Some programs may seem extremely attractive to you, but if they do not offer flights out the closest airport to you then you are wasting time and money. Although, this is a good secondary program to be a part of if this airline can fly you to other places that you would like to travel to more often.

o Benefits & Features. Do your research; take the time to investigate all of the available bonuses and features offered to you through any program that you are interested in. If you fly numerous times in a year what does that customer status earn you? Does the program offer any other types of usages for you, such as a credit card or earning points for hotels and car rentals? What is the limit of miles you can attain, do they ever expire, and are there any stipulations on locations?

To really decide on the best frequent flyer program to go into business with, it will take some time. Although, if your primary goal is to get the most frequent flyer miles for your dollars, it pays to do your research and check out all of the details associated with the program. By taking this time you will be more and more benefited as the rewards continue to pile up.

Car Repair Prices: The Dim Underworld Of Automotive Service

Most know the most glaring auto repair pricing abuses: Service centers overcharging $100s even $1000s for repairs, or charging for repairs that were never done at all.

To be sure, this still happens every day. However, there are many other techniques which involve flying just low enough to avoid detection.

The savvy service centers increase the price so as not to set off any alarms. It has become so common that its not just an accepted industry practice, but even service customers have accepted paying higher prices.

Knowing how ingrained price-gouging is within the automotive service industry, its shocking (although understandable) that even service customers have succumbed to excessive car repair prices. I frequently hear service customers state:

Yeah, I know I was ripped off, but my cars fixed now. Or, I know they charge too much, but theyre convenient.

This is insane! To accept auto repair price-gouging is to allow its continuation. The difficult part, of course, is how to stop it. Given that the automotive service industry is so big and powerful (and so frightfully necessary) how does one battle such a force?

Perhaps the first thing to understand is the degree to which this type of stealth-like price-gouging occurs. A two-decade undercover investigation has revealed that 98% of all repair shops (dealerships, local shops, and franchises) are price-gouging their customers in one form or another.

The following exchange, between a service manager and service advisor, provides an idea of the scope of scamming below the radar.

A service advisor asked his manager how to bill more hours per month, which is another way of asking how the advisor can make more money. The service manager casually stated:

Simply add an additional two tenths to every ticket you write.

In other words, every customer this service advisor helps, he was instructed by a superior to add a little extra. So if the labor rate is $100 per hour two tenths would equal $20. Rather than pay $100 per hour, the service customer would actually pay $120.

$20 doesnt sound like much compared to the gross injustices we all know. However, whether its an overcharge of two cents or $20, its too much.

If you visit a shop practicing this strategy alone (there are hundreds of strategies, many applied simultaneously), you may end up paying over a $100 or more by years end.

Whats really shocking is that being ripped off $100 over a years time is actually minor!

Try $500-$5000

Foundation Supports Student Achievement In Denver Schools

The Denver Public School Foundation is a portal for community and business philanthropy for the Denver schools. Originally started in 1984, it played a passive role in the Denver schools, until it was revitalized in 2002.

The purpose of the Denver schools foundation is to raise and manage funds in support of the districts ambitious plan to improve student achievement. The Denver schools leadership develops the funding areas, and the foundation drives community investment and builds partnerships with local businesses. The price tag for improving student academic achievement is much higher than the available monies provided through annual city, state and federal funding.

During the 2005-2006 school year, the foundations accomplishments show it to be a vital arm of the Denver schools scholastic achievement initiative. Here are the major highlights:

The foundation raised $750,000 to implement the first Principals Institute that was held in June 2006. Leadership training, designed to improve student achievement, was provided to 130 Denver schools principals, and new strategies were developed by the principals to transform their schools into effective learning organizations. The Denver schools principals will continue to be supported in their objectives in 2006-2007 by attending monthly professional development sessions that began in August.

The foundation raised $250,000 to implement DPS Success, which provides supplemental instruction in math and literacy to students in grades three through ten. During the 2005-2006 school year, 558 teachers provided extra tutoring instruction to approximately 8,400 students in 82 schools.

The School Partners Program was launched with $250,000 raised by the foundation. The program will create tailor-made partnerships between the Denver schools and Denver area businesses, raising even more support for the Denver schools initiatives in the future.

The A to Z Fund was developed to provide funding support for individual school programs and projects, ensuring that every student has an equal opportunity to access the same types of activities and further enrich the learning experience of Denver schools students. The goal is to raise $100,000 by December 2006, with the first funding cycle beginning in February 2007.

The foundation facilitated the requests of numerous donors, who wanted their donations to underwrite specific projects. Some of the projects were library improvement, health and safety education programs, new gymnasium scoreboards, and athletic equipment.

The Lights On After School initiative was developed to advance the quality of after-school programs in support of the Denver schools students. The following accomplishments are from this program:

o $658,000 in grants was awarded to 87 elementary and middle schools to support their after-school programs that served approximately 8,500 Denver schools students.

o Over $260,00 ensured that 3,000 middle school students could participate in competitive after-school sports.

o A study, released in April 2006, showed that multiple-year participation in quality and diverse after-school programs in the Denver schools does result in positive student achievement and school attendance.

o Phillips Elementary School improved its reading test scores for third graders from 45 percent proficient or advanced in 2004 to 89 percent in 2005. The school attributes its successes to Lights On After School tutoring.

o Tom Roberts, a Morey Middle School student, finished first at the Denver-metro Math Counts competition in March 2006. Math Counts at Morey is funded by the Lights On After School initiative.

During the 2006-2007 school year, the foundation will continue to support the above initiatives, as well as the following:

Teacher Induction Program support new teachers during their first three years of service in the Denver schools, and

Science Program enhance the current science program by supporting new elementary school science curriculum and providing high quality materials for the new Science Resource Center.

Pace Edwards Roll - Top Tonneau Cover Review

There are a lot of these particular tonneau cover on the road, saving gas and protecting cargo from the weather and not to mention keeping your cargo out of sight out of mind. It is classed as a hard top retractable tonneau cover. It seems to be a pickup truck owners favorite.

After unlocking the Pace Edwards Roll-Top tonneau cover it retracts automatically enabling you to gain access to your full truck bed. This cover is manufactured to give a nice smooth flush mount look. The padded polymer looks and feels like leather but lasts longer. The one piece padded polymer is laminated to heavy gauge aluminum panels. This way you get a soft feel but a hard tonneau cover. All the aluminum trim is smooth and has scratch resistant powder coat finish. This tonneau cover is custom designed to fit your particular make, model and year. The design structure will not freeze or collapse with snow. Like most retractable tonneau covers, water is channeled to the canister and out through drain tubes to help keep your truck bed dry. It retracts automatically and can be closed with one hand from either side of the truck bed.

They say this tonneau cover installs in less than one hour. In my opinion in most cases I would say it takes a little longer. The cover is backed by a 1 year warranty.

They say that the cover is pretty water tight but you may get a little water in a very hard rain storm but installing the gasket kit for the tailgate may help. In most cases the tonneau cover kept the truck bed dry. Some may complain that there is no pull strap or handle just a key turn lock at the back end. Some also complain about the lock itself. It seems it may be kind of cheap. One good thing though, it is just a standard cabinet lock and easy to replace. There does seem to be a problem getting the lock to align. I would suggest two people to install this cover as it may help with alignment issues. It seems if you live on dusty roads or spend a lot of time on them you may encounter problems with the tracks clogging up.

All in all these are minor problems and still most people love their Pace Edwards Roll Top tonneau cover. I am sure you would enjoy it just as much.

Mired in secrecy, the uranium market hopes to someday offer price transparency. To whom will this real uranium price become transparent? Industry insiders know well before the general investing public ever finds out.

Utility fuel managers compete with a few handfuls of fuel brokers for the best price break. Utilities complain about the unwelcome speculators whove entered the market. and utility spokesman predict a long-term price about one-half of the US$122/pound price indicator announced in Nuclear Market Review this past Friday (another consulting service chose $125/pound for their price indicator). Some uranium miners forecast a price racing past $200/pound. Who is gaming whom? Or is this all part of the negotiations process between producers and end-users?

Meanwhile, more immediate price transparency seems to appear at Mestenas regular spot uranium price auctions than in the much larger, but secretive uranium marketplace. Yet, the amount this private uranium producer has sold is far less than one percent of the uranium consumed in 2006. The present spread between spot and long-term uranium pricing has raised eyebrows and led some to question the credibility of the spot price.

Mestenas next auction reportedly takes place on May 30th, or at least thats when offers to buy the U3O8 are due. This time Mestena will have a bit of competition. An unnamed hedge fund has contacted potential buyers to solicit offers for 200 thousand pounds U3O8 and 100 metric tons U as UF6 two days after Mestena opens the magic envelopes. As more material is offered to the market, perhaps the spot and long-term price will narrow to a more logical spread. Perhaps, instead, this spread will close when utilities and investors reach a consensus on Cameco Corps (CCJ) Cigar Lake project, Rio Tintos (RTP) Namibian expansion and resolution of the March flooding in northern Australia, and a firm date on BHP Billitons (BHP) Olympic Dam expansion.

A Glimpse Inside This Secret World

The widely heralded fiat uranium trading at the highly publicized NYMEX ring moves forward, but the exchange is still searching for participants, and it is about as entertaining as watching grass grow. In lower Manhattan, this commodity exchange was not only the first commodity forum to offer trading on platinum more than 40 years ago, but in early May began offering paper uranium trading. The public can play the paper chase, but not for the real McCoy U3O8.

In mid-town Manhattan, near Grand Central Station, a lesser known commodity exchange, run by New York Nuclear, has real-time screen trading every Wednesday morning between 7:30 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. And the screen trading is for the real thing the physical delivery of U3O8. The processed uranium is offered for delivery within a 30-day period at a licensed uranium conversion facility. Real product trading in real-time by real professionals, who mine uranium, consume uranium or act as a broker for either side.

No, the public is not invited to this clubby function. One must be a certified market participant to bid for or sell U3O8 through New York Nuclears Uranium Online. While NYMEX paper trading is open to amateurs and professional traders, Uranium Online only permits recognized persons to bid or offer uranium for sale.

We have all categories as players, New York Nuclears Joe McCourt told StockInterview.com. Those who have signed up to trade physical uranium on his online screen system include uranium producers, hedge funds, fuel brokers and utility fuel managers. These are the major players in the physical uranium market, McCourt added.

Our chat with Joe McCourt was quite enlightening. Later in an email exchange with Uranium One (SXRFF) chief executive Neal Froneman, we were told Joe is a heck of a nice guy. Others in the industry echoed his sentiments.

In a few words, Joe explained why uranium price transparency is presently out of reach, and could remain a mythical goal for some time. Theres so few players in the business, and theres a lot of confidentiality, McCourt told StockInterview. Everybody wants to see what everybody else does, but they dont want anybody to see what they do.

McCourt has also observed this secrecy in his companys online screen system trading of physical uranium. Everybody wants to see everybody elses posts, but they dont want to post themselves, he told us.

Surrounded by this degree of secrecy and the recent NYMEX competition, why does McCourt persist? In my opinion, I think that utilities want transparency, he told us. We want to improve how the market works.

So who participates in the weekly trading sessions? These are people we know to be bonafide buyers and sellers, McCourt said. And what makes these bonafide? We are in touch with the major players. Weve been in the business for 25 years, and weve done deals with many people. We know who is for real and who is not for real. (See Joe McCourt end bio.)

How does McCourt screen out the gamers? We have user agreements, rules and procedures that everybody signs, he told us. Its a contract. When anybody posts something in the system, its a like valid offer. They make a commitment.

Do the buyers and sellers know with whom they are dealing? No, its anonymous, McCourt said. Only we know. We stand as the hub. They can see us, but they cant see each other. McCourt reassured us his system has kept permanent records of all transactions and discussions during those trading sessions. We have a system that is auditable, if some authority comes to us, he said.

Another concern was his companys participation in the trading. We dont do it on our own account, McCourt told us. We are strictly brokers. We are matching buyers and sellers. Its our reputation thats on the line.

Prior to participation in the online trading, everyone on the system is sent a possible counterparty list. Those companies who have had bad relationships in the past can strike off parties with whom they will not do business. People are very concerned about credit, McCourt explained. You dont want to sign a deal with someone you dont like their credit, or you dont think they are a reliable supplier. He further explained that risk departments are very involved with procurement these days and companies are very careful about their counterparts.

What are the bugs in McCourts system? Most material is bought and sold under long-term contracts, he said. Theres not a long of activity in the spot market. We are trying to help more activity develop in the spot market by making it easier for people to do deals, having certain delivery times and delivery locations. In other words, McCourt hope to standardize the secondary market.

But why is there only one two-hour trading session per week? Theres not a lot of liquidity in this market, McCourt responded. We picked two hours once a week to concentrate on this. Otherwise, its like watching paint dry.

New York Nuclear has only completed one transaction since launching this late last year. Why? For large companies, this is something new, he explained. It has to go through reviews, legal reviews, risk management reviews and all that. Its a departure from what they normally do. In other conversations weve had with utilities and industry insiders, this is the problem NYMEX faces in drawing utilities into trading on their exchange.

Still, McCourts action impacted NYMEX trading this past week. After screen trading was completed last Wednesday, the NYMEX June 2007 U3O8 uranium swap suddenly dropped. During the previous week, McCourts screen snapshot, published in his Thursday night edition of FreshFUEL showed June 2007 uranium at $122 and December uranium at $130. This past Wednesday, uranium for December delivery dropped to $125/pound.

No transactions took place. But, it does confirm that buyers would be willing to pay $122 to $125/pound to purchase U3O8 for June and December delivery. Sellers refused to part with their material. Five days later, Ux Consulting raised the firms weekly spot price indicator to $125/pound. Obviously, TradeTech decided on the front-month and made the judgment call of $122 in this Friday edition of Nuclear Market Review, while Ux Consulting decided upon Decembers delivery month price.

As a fuel broker, which is New York Nuclears main business, McCourt said, As far as spot volume is concerned, I dont think anyone knows everything thats going on. He pointed out his company has been doing transactions off the screens. We dont publicize those transactions, he told us. And true to his word, McCourt did not reveal the pricing on his companys transactions.

McCourt hopes he can grow his online trading business by attracting more buyers and sellers to post on his screen system. We are helping the buyers and sellers get together so eventually these screens will be populated with a lot of numbers, and hopefully a lot of transactions. McCourt also pointed out, Thats going to add tremendous transparency to this market, which doesnt exist to a great extent now. He hopes utility buyers can make routine, small purchases instead of infrequent large purchases. Instead of buying one million pounds every year, they could buy 20,000 pounds every week, McCourt said.

Conclusion

Over the past year, the combination of a sharp uranium price rise accompanied by the entry of new uranium producers has probably obscured price transparency instead of providing more transparency.

Aside from finding out why there is now a $37/pound spread between the spot and long-term contract price for U3O8, we have one significant unanswered question. At which levels are the escalating floor prices for the recent contracts announced for the near-term U3O8 production by companies such as Paladin Resources (PALAF) and Uranium One? Until we gain a better understanding of these floor prices, we may not realistically have price transparency.

In the interim, investors and traders can have some glimpse of price transparency but only for short-term trading purposes. In a previous article, we evaluated some of the available market research tools available to the sophisticated investor. http://stockinterview.com/journal.html

Lets put this into a linear timeline for better understanding.

The first company out of the box with any indication of where the uranium market could head during the current week and into the early part of the following week is New York Nuclear. Wednesdays screen trading includes utility fuel managers, fuel brokers, utility risk managers and other buyers, who square off for two hours, early Wednesday morning, against their counterparts. These could include other fuel brokers, uranium producers or their marketing managers, hedge funds and speculators. To date, price indications are provided as to what buyers could be willing to pay for U3O8 purchases, and at which prices sellers wont part with their material.

Granted, little transaction activity has taken place on the Uranium Online trading screens, but the activity during those screen trading sessions provides some price guidance. On Thursday night, Washington Nuclear (sister company of New York Nuclear) emails the weekly edition of FreshFUEL to paid subscribers. In the past two issues weve reviewed, a screen shot is provided on Page 2. The companys tutorial can be found on its website at www.uranium.com.

Late Friday night each week, TradeTech publishes changes in the spot price in Nuclear Market Review. TradeTech interviews its proprietary list of market participants on Friday afternoon and gathers new data not reported in FreshFUEL. Because the market participants in the Wednesday screen sessions are mostly North American and European, TradeTech may obtain new data or find out about off-screen transactions post-Wednesdays screen trading. A new weekly spot price is reported on TradeTechs website at www.uranium.info

Every two weeks, Platts Nuclear Fuel is published for the nuclear industry. In the May 21st edition, one of three front page headlines reported, Two uranium auctions expected to push U price up. Spot price transactions, according to traders Platts interviewed, were expected to reach between $120 and $140/pound U3O8. Because Platts emails its newsletter to paid subscribers on Friday before TradeTech issues its weekly spot price, Platts subscribers get the old price.

Sometime on late Monday, Ux Consulting reports its spot uranium price to paid subscribers. On a few occasions there have been negligible discrepancies between the UxC price and the TradeTech weekly spot price. Late Tuesday, non-UxC subscribers find out this consulting firms price indicator.

The next day, on early Wednesday morning a new cycle begins when New York Nuclear conducts the next session of its screen trading.

For all the hoopla, little uranium price transparency has taken place with NYMEX futures. Ux Consulting president Jeff Combs announced it would take about six months or so to develop. Its the or so part we believe may take longer than Mr. Combs expects. In the way of an apology, NYMEX suggested this tiny amount of trading was what was expected.

NYMEX faces the same hurdles New York Nuclear has yet to overcome. Risk management departments at utilities question whether or not they will participate in these futures. Of those weve had conversations with, we are told, We are still studying this.

Between New York Nuclears Wednesday screen trading of physical uranium (as opposed to paper trading) and TradeTechs weekly report on the spot uranium price, we obtain some guidance as to the direction of the uranium market.

But this only provides short term visibility. Until the long-term uranium price and the spot price narrow the spread, and until price transparency comes about from the escalating floor contracts, the general public will remain in the dark.

A real solution would come from physical uranium trading on a grand scale, as Joe McCourt envisions, instead of the fiat trading now taking place.

1000 New Catastrophe Adjusters Needed Right Now in the USA

Yes, it's true...there currently is a need for 1000 trained catastrophe adjusters in the United States. As a consumer advocate I'm always looking for new career opportunities for the people that have been downsized. So I heard about catastrophe adjusting and went to the top expert in the country, Howard Williams, to learn more. Here is my interview.

Recently I had a chance to sit down with Howard and discuss his years as a storm adjuster.

Hugh: Howard, what exactly is a storm adjuster and what do you do?

Howard: When a major storm or other catastrophe hits anywhere in the country and the claims load is larger than the local adjusters can handle, the insurance companies turn to a core group of storm adjusters. These adjusters are available to respond to disasters wherever they are and whenever they are needed. Working as an extension of insurance company's claims department, adjusters assist the company's policyholders in evaluating and preparing their claims for damages.

Hugh: I think that you have created a slogan that pretty well says it: Going where needed, when needed.

Howard: Yes, that is true and it has certainly been true in my case. In the past 35 years I have been to almost every natural disaster and even several man-made ones that have made the headlines in the United States. Most recently I spent six months in the Hurricane Katrina ravaged areas of Mississippi and Alabama.

Hugh: Six months?

Howard: Yes, I was there in the area for six months except for coming back home several weekends. That is one of the requirements of this profession. You must be able to go any time and any where they need you. For instance, with Katrina I was on the road heading to Mississippi as soon as the roads were open for rescue trucks to get in there. I arrived there to find no motel rooms available in either Mississippi or Alabama. I finally found a condo that I was able to rent in the panhandle of Florida. Therefore I had to make that long trip daily back and forth. So you have to know how to take care of yourself and I credit a great deal of that ability to my former police training.

Hugh: Yes, I knew that you had been a police officer in your earlier years. What other training have you found valuable?

Howard: As you know I'm also a personal coach and that training has been immensely valuable. For instance, in Florida, when I have worked the big hurricanes like Andrew I have found numerous senior citizens who were in a total state of shock. I would arrive at their homes to find them sitting in living rooms that had no roofs with water soaked carpets. Many had no one to turn to since their neighbors were too busy taking care of their own problems. So the first item of business is for me to get them out of that house. I want to get them into a nice clean, dry motel room if possible.

Hugh, you have to learn to EMPATHIZE with their situation and not get caught up in the drama going on. That's where my personal coach training has been invaluable. Most storm adjusters either are too business like or they get caught up in the drama happening. You want to help but you still have to focus on the situation determining the damage done to their dwelling.

Hugh: So what do you do to determine that damage?

Howard: This is where you have to use your skills of estimating and also having a background in construction certainly does not hurt. I have to begin to look at the overall situation to determine what has been damaged by water and what has been damaged by wind. As you are aware as a consumer investigative reporter, there have been numerous stories in the media regarding this with Hurricane Katrina victims. No one seems to understand that certain damages are not covered by insurance.

Estimating and surveying the damage is where it can get very interesting. You may find yourself climbing up to a roof to explore damage and the next minute find yourself crashing through that roof! It has happen to me. Also usually in areas like Mississippi you are likely to find numerous snakes beginning to take up residence in the houses. Not to mention the heat that usually returns after the storm.

Hugh: Well with my fear of heights over 10 feet this is certainly not something that I would do well with.

Howard: That's where a husband/wife team comes in real handy. We find a number of husband/wife teams in storm adjusting. Usually, but not always, the husband will do the climbing and the wife will write down the findings. Both need to know how to estimate and a background in construction is a plus"

Hugh: Well, I'm sure people reading this interview will want to know: 'How much can one make in this business?'

Howard: This can be a very lucrative career especially if you are doing major events like Katrina. I earned in the neighborhood of $120,000 for the six months work.

Hugh: WOW, $120,000 for six months work?

Howard: Yes, when you learn the ropes like I will be teaching at my new school in North Carolina, it is possible to eventually be earning that amount for six months work. And both fortunately and unfortunately, this type of work will not have any downsizing in the near future.

Hugh: Yes, as you know I also own an emergency preparedness consulting business. Our reports from Max Mayfield, chief meteorologist for the National Hurricane Center, are that the powerful hurricanes like Katrina will increase in number over the next ten years.

Howard: Yes, and that is just hurricanes. Think of all the earthquakes, tornadoes, wild fires, wind storms, floods, etc. occurring in the United States every year. According to our industry association there will be a need for 1,000 new storm adjusters in 2007 alone.

Hugh: Howard, you mentioned your new school. Tell us more about it and how people reading this interview can learn more.

Howard: Yes, I have decided to take my 35 years of experience in storm adjusting and offer a two week school for those looking for a new career. Also I will be sharing all the updated information in this field from my recent classes that I have attended. A person taking this course will learn about estimating, construction information that can make their job easier (I want to assure people that you do NOT have to have a background in construction to apply), writing the reports, communicating and working with the insurance companies, etc. For those that would like to learn more they can visit our web site at http://www.stormadjusterschool.com and after reading if interested can contact me at stormboss@earthlink.net.

Cheap Airline Ticket -- Best 10 Tips on How to Buy Discounted Flight Tickets

Everyone who travels wants to save as much as possible when flying. Why would you want to pay the regular going cost when you can get flight tickets cheaper? I have provided a few clever ways of saving yourself a ton of money on your next air trip.

1) Book online instead of offline; you'll save money from the paper processing fee.

2) Clear out your cookies. Why? Many travel websites use the cookies to log when you search for a particular route and will quote you higher when you return to that site to search again.

3) Many airline websites update their airfare shortly after midnight. A little research about the route you are looking will help you get the best airfares before they are sold.

4) Stay less than 30 days. Most airfare tariffs have a month's limitation stay restriction. If you require more time, you will pay a higher priced ticket.

5) If you are traveling with a child under 2 year of age, your child is qualified to travel for free. Buying a separate seat for your child is really expensive.

6) Be ready and open to have different departure and return dates. Mark "anytime" in the search window.

7) Buy flight tickets during the off-season periods; flight tickets are usually cheaper.

8) Buy flight tickets in advance; you can save a lot.

9) Buy from an air courier service; these are companies that will buy your luggage space in exchange for lower-priced tickets.

10) If you fly a lot, join a frequent flyer program; such a program offers long-term discounts.

What Women Should Know When Dating

What women should know when dating

Unlike before, when the total outcome or atmosphere of dating solely depends on the man, women of today have learned how to take part of the entire process. They have realized that in order to make most out on a date, they have their own roles to play. They are now more enthusiastic and open to the idea that if they want to have a successful date, they have to follow basic and general rules in datingespecially in first dates.

WHEN EVE GOES ON A DATE

Even the most confident women experience anxiety attacks when they go out on a datewhat more to those who are not so confident about themselves? If a woman decided to go on dateespecially with the man she is interested withthere should be no space for self-doubt. Although being rejected can be a horrifying thought, women can never go wrong if they follow the simple rules on dating.

If you are up on a date, the first thing to consider is how to make the date itself enjoyable for the both of you. If he suggests something you cannot comfortable with, then offer him other alternatives. Theres no good in going on a date that you cannot enjoy yourself.

If you are too nervous and you think youre not one of those women that are good conversationalists, make up for it by suggesting an activity that would keep you both preoccupied. This would take the pressure off on both parties and may lead to a more fluid conversation. (Tip: try to stay in tune with current events so the man will discover youre not only pretty but smart as well.)

After breaking the ice, keep yourself in check. Make sure that you dont go overboard by making nasty comments or by getting too close because this will turn him off. If you want to get a mans attention, pay a lot more attention to him by listening to him rather than you talking.

Before leaving your house for a date, make sure that you leave your emotional baggage behind. Being emotional on a date over something will make a man feel you dont need a lover but a psychologist or therapist.

Here are additional general rules on dating:

1. Always be gorgeous, decent, or at least presentable whatever your income is. Gorgeous women are one of the mens guilty pleasures. Looking your best with that gorgeous hair, fancy clothes, and make-up can make you a head-turner anywhere.

2. Be discreet and mysterious. Especially on first dates, giving out too much pieces of information that are unnecessary will only turn him off. Remember, mysterious and enigmatic women stay on mens minds compared to those who are not.

3. Know when less is more. Dates dont have to take so much time as long as you keep the man interested. Lesser time might even pave the way for the second, third or fourth date because he would think that you need more time to know each other.

4. Keep that figure in check. Slim or fit women appeals to most men because it gives the impression that these women know how to take care of themselves. Taking a time off to workout in a fitness center or gym can be your investment in looking for your dream guy.

5. Time check. Remember, first impressions last thats why you have to make sure that you are on time when you go out on a date.

6. Be interesting and interested. Although your date did not turn out to be your dream guy, be lady enough to stick until the end by keeping your sense of humor.

7. Even if you believe in gender equality, let the man pay the bills.

There you go, the most basic and effective rules in dating for women. If you think you did almost everything and still, the date did no turn out well, dont sulk. Who knows, your next date will turn out your Mr. Right if you keep following these simple rules.
